Special Presentation! We’re delighted to close our 2026–27 season with Anissa Bonnefont’s atmospheric documentary, following 900 artists, staff and technicians at La Scala over three months as they race to stage a new production of Verdi’s La forza del destino for the theatre’s traditional 7 December Opening Night gala.

Milan – and Italy – holds its breath. Inside La Scala’s creative hive, stage director Leo Muscato readies his vision with the design teams as the chorus and orchestra rehearse under maestro Riccardo Chailly and theatre staff prepare the 250‑year‑old venue. Anticipation builds with the arrival of the star international cast – among them Anna Netrebko and Ludovic Tézier – while backstage tension mounts as opening night approaches: will they be ready when the curtain rises?

Palace Cinemas patrons please note: Online sales for sessions at Palace Cinemas in VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD and WA will commence on 4 December 2026. In the meantime, you can secure advance tickets by purchasing in person at the respective cinema box offices.
