  • A crisp, sweet treat. You can only surrender to the festive magic.
A gleaming Rolls-Royce of a production, purring with majestic ease. This Nutcracker never succumbs to sickly sweetness. Instead, it’s as crisp and wondrous as the first fall of snow.
    Marianka Swain, THE TELEGRAPH
    So sumptuous, so marvellously detailed.
    Debra Craine, THE TIMES
Flawless. Feel-good confection of the highest order.
    Donald Hutera, THE STAGE
Enchanting. My favourite Nutcracker. A ballet to reconnect us to our childhoods – the excitement of Christmas, the anticipation of presents under the tree, believing in the unbelievable. Long may such magic last. It keeps us young.
    Mark Pullinger, BACHTRACK

Join young Clara at a delightful Christmas Eve party that becomes a magical adventure once everyone else is tucked up in bed. Marvel at the brilliance of Tchaikovsky’s score, as Clara (Sae Maeda) and her enchanted Nutcracker (Joseph Sissens) fight the Mouse King and visit the Sugar Plum Fairy (Fumi Kaneko) and her Prince (William Bracewell) in the glittering Kingdom of Sweets.

Peter Wright’s much-loved production for The Royal Ballet, with gorgeous period designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman, keeps true to the spirit of this festive ballet classic, combining the thrill of the fairy tale with spectacular classical dancing.
